Chiropractic is a straight-forward method of adjusting the body to improve the alignment of your skeleton, relieve muscle tension and, through this process, help the nervous system to work more efficiently. The purpose of chiropractic care is to realign and rebalance your body to relieve pain and discomfort, and increase mobility.
Misalignments of the joints can occur for many reasons including incorrect lifting, car or sporting accidents, falls, stress, and poor posture. These can lead to pain, numbness, pins and needles, or restricted mobility.
Chiropractic care offers help for tackling a range of symptoms and conditions, helping you regain good functioning of your amazing body! The following conditions can benefit from chiropractic care:

Some patients also seek help for other complaints and use chiropractic care for continued good functioning and wellness.
Phil has provided chiropractic care to help clients of various ages, from many different walks of life and with many different backgrounds, conditions and symptoms.
What to Expect
An initial appointment involves taking a medical history, assessing your symptoms and looking at other factors that may be influencing your condition. As a qualified chiropractor, Phil will perform a physical examination including any necessary orthopaedic and neurological testing to locate the problem. He will then talk through the findings with you and discuss what treatment is recommended.
McTimoney chiropractic treatment involves the chiropractor using their hands to detect and adjust areas of the body using precise, relatively gentle techniques. Phil uses McTimoney chiropractic and, if appropriate, incorporates the use of massage and other soft tissue techniques to relieve muscle pain, tension and other issues. Privacy and a gown are always provided and the patient’s confidentiality is respected at all times. Advice is also given on how to look after yourself following treatment and how to help reduce the chance of having issues in the future.
Phil says “I put you, my client at the heart of my consultation and treatment, so the treatment approach and appointment time is tailored around you but, as a guide, an initial consultation usually takes about 1 to 1½ hours, including a treatment.
Follow-up consultations and treatments usually take around 45 minutes.”
The number of appointments needed varies depending on the nature of the problem, your general health, age, lifestyle and other factors. Often 2 to 5 sessions can provide decreased symptoms and better functioning. Some patients find so much benefit that they choose to have regular chiropractic care for continued good functioning and wellness.
